BitComet is a manager for web, FTP and BitTorrent downloads supporting simultaneous connections, file queue, selected torrent package contents, fast-resume, chatting, disk cache, speed limits, port mapping, proxy, IP filter etc.

The download includes both 32 and 64-bit versions.

Note: Many years ago, BitComet attracted a lot of critics due to its non-compliance with several standards. While still developed in China, most issues have since been resolved.

PotPlayer is a feature-rich media player that plays hundreds of different video and audio formats without any dependency on installed codecs, as well as streaming media and DVD video. The program includes configurable subtitles, audio and subtitles delay adjustment, video equalizer, 3D capabilities, playlist support, bookmarks, audio visualizations etc.

The program can also capture video sequences and record audio, split video and add processing filters. It can sleep or shut down the computer after a timer finishes or at a set time.

mpv.net is a media player based on mpv. It’s a highly advanced and extremely configurable player that targets power users. Unlike similar tools, the program uses FFmpeg for decoding instead of relying on DirectShow or Media Foundation. mpv.net adds a modern GUI on top of mpv but retains mpv’s command line support.

mpv has OpenGL video output with support for several video scaling algorithms, color management, interpolation, HDR, D3D11VA and DXVA2 hardware video decoding, and more.

EssentialPIM includes a calendar/scheduler, todo list, contact manager, basic e-mail client, and tree-like multi-level notes tool that supports rich text, formatting and images.

While many advanced functions such as synchronization and encryption are exclusive in the Pro version, the program is capable of manually importing from variety of formats including Outlook, TreePad, Google calendar etc. Additionally, it can export to many formats including HTML, vCard, iCal, RTF, CSV, iPod, text etc.

CudaText is a code editor with a clean, tabbed interface and side-panels. Includes split view, code folding, hotkeys, theme support, color picker and much more. The program supports 300+ syntaxes and add-ons written in Python, as well as some IDE features if plugins are used.

The program is cross-platform, with clients available for Mac and Linux. Settings are modified either via options dialogs, or alternatively, by manually editing text config files (JSON format).

Ditto is a feature-rich, customizable extension to the standard copy-paste mechanism. The program saves each copied item to a dynamic list, allowing access to anything copied or cut. You can save any type of information that can be put on the standard Windows clipboard and preview in before pasting.

Additionally, the program can communicate with other computers over a network to keep clipboards in sync.

Alternatively, Ditto Portable is also available in the PortableApps format.

LibreOffice is a complete productivity suite including word processor, spreadsheet, presentations, database, drawing tool and more. Includes strong compatibility for 100s of file formats including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.). The program is similar to OpenOffice, a program that it was derived from, but has added many new features and improvements.

LibreOffice Portable is a special build developed in conjunction with the publisher. On systems without Java installed, some functions such as document creation wizards and the Base database application etc. can be enabled by adding jPortable, though this is optional and can be skipped if those functions are not needed. Alternatively, X-LibreOffice is also available.

Other available portable versions:

  • Still – more tested and stable but with fewer features/capabilities
  • Legacy – for WinXP/Vista users (unsupported)

The program is cross platform with versions available for Mac, Linux/BSD (comes default with most distros) and supports a variety of extensions.

SoundVolumeView displays general information and current volume level for all active sound components on your system, allowing instant mute/unmute. This is useful both for viewing audio management details as well as tracking down (and silencing) a given program sound from your system. Additionally, the program also allows for loading or saving custom sound configurations for a given situation or toolset. A config file contains volume level, mute/unmute state of all sound components and default sound devices.

A command-line interface is also available with extensive support, allowing you to save/load profiles, change the current volume of every sound component and mute/unmute every sound component.
