UltraFileSearch Lite – The Portable Freeware Collection

UltraFileSearch Lite quickly finds files, folders and text on your local, network, or external media. The program allows you to specify several file masks and drives/folders at the same time; it is able to sort them according to their properties (e.g. modified date) and find files that contain one or more specific words or sentences.

This utility does not use background indexing.

NOTE: Beyond version 5.3.0, the program is shareware. Linking to the last freeware “Lite” version. The shareware version has additional features.

Shutter Lite – The Portable Freeware Collection

Shutter is a customizable program that lets you perform a variety of actions when a user-specified event occurs. Events include timer countdown, a certain time trigger, low CPU usage, user inactivity, a low battery etc. The corresponding actions include shutdown, reboot, logoff, lock workstation, sleep, hibernate etc.

The program can play a custom sound and/or run a program of your choice, in addition to displaying a user-configurable message. A web interface is also available that permits remote execution of one of a list of actions.

Note: A pro version is available without the limitation of 5 presets, events and actions.

ReNamer is a small and flexible file renaming tool that offers all the standard renaming procedures, including prefixes, suffixes, replacements, case changes. It can also remove brackets, add number sequences, remove digits or symbols, change file extensions and much more. Multiple renaming actions can be combined into a rule set.

The program supports meta tags such as ID3v1, ID3v2, EXIF, OLE etc. to rename files based on available metadata.

Includes themes, tabbed search entries, preview window, and search priority. Search types supported include wildcard, boolean, and regex on both filenames and file internals. You can import/export search criteria and export detailed search results.

Finds details inside standard text files, as well as PDF and Office formats. Note that Win7 users will need the Filter Pack (not portable) to search Office files, as described on the website.

A pro version is available with additional features. Note that “FileLocator Pro” is just a rename of this program.
