HashMyFiles – The Portable Freeware Collection



HashMyFiles is a small utility that allows you to generate unique file identifiers (hashes) using a variety of popular checks. These can help determine if a file has been modified or corrupted, as well as help determine the file’s reputation by submitting to the VirusTotal database for malware analysis.

Formats supported range form fast to secure with CRC32, MD5, SHA1/-256/-512/-384. The various hashing information can be saved to a report (text/HTML/XML/CSV/TSV) that includes name, path, dates, file size, version and other info.

i2pdf (image to pdf) is a fast and compact application built to create PDF documents from a collection of images, typically scanned from a paper source or in form of digital photographs. i2pdf allows control over the final quality and size of the images stored inside the PDF. Supports JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF and TIFF file formats.

Note multi page / multi-frame formats are not supported (for example, multi-page TIFFs or animated GIFs). Additionally, transparency data is not preserved whether a PNG or GIF file.

WinDirStat – The Portable Freeware Collection

There are things I don’t like:

– Busy status bar cannot be hidden
– Bold font on Tabs
– Minor issues assigning keyboard shortcuts
– Powerful, but non-standard find/replace
– No incremental find

The metamorphosis continues, perhaps it’s worth another look.

KeyNote NF is a tabbed notebook that is particularly suitable for writing and organizing free-form information, especially those that fit naturally within a tree-based structure, such as lists or outlines. It supports rich text and images, multi-level notes and strong encryption. A search function quickly locates information you are looking for. Notes can also be securely encrypted using IDEA or Blowfish.

KeyNote NF is a fork of the original early 2000s’ open-source Keynote, which is no longer being developed. It adds many new features, including check boxes on children of selected nodes, hidden nodes, alarms on nodes, better treatment of tables, improved treatment of links, multi-language support, automatic compression, etc.
